What is the difference between a pivot and a hinged shower door?

A hinged door is attached directly to the wall or a side panel and swings outward like a standard room door. A pivot shower door has a pin mechanism at the top and bottom, allowing a portion of the door to swing back into the shower tray, which slightly reduces the outward opening circle.

Do I need to buy a specific shower tray for my door?

It is always best to match your door to the correct shower tray shape. For example, a quadrant shower door must be paired with a quadrant shower tray of the same radius to ensure a watertight seal and a professional finish.

Is the glass in shower doors safe and durable?

Yes. All shower doors use toughened safety glass, which is designed to be much stronger than standard glass. In the unlikely event of breakage, it shatters into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards, making it much safer for use in the home. Thicker glass options also provide a more solid, premium feel. We supply shower doors with a thickness of up to 10mm for extra durability and safety.

Are shower doors difficult to clean?

In areas with hard water, regular wiping helps prevent limescale buildup. All of our shower doors have protective coatings with treated glass that prevent limescale buildup, making them easier to clean as soils and liquids slide off the surface. 

Will a shower door leak water?

We supply modern shower doors that are designed with tight seals, magnetic closures, and drip channels to keep water contained within the enclosure. Minor splashes can occur with any shower setup, but when fitted correctly to a level shower tray with proper sealing, water leakage should not be an issue in everyday use.
