Quadrant Shower Doors

A quadrant shower enclosure fits neatly into a bathroom corner, with two straight sides against the walls and a curved glass front. The curve takes the sharp corner off the shower, freeing up floor space in front of it while leaving a generous area to shower in.

Most quadrants use sliding doors that stay within the enclosure footprint, so you can fit one close to a toilet, basin or towel rail. Some designs use a hinged door that swings open instead, so check the door type if space in front of the shower is tight.

At Deluxe Bathrooms, our roots go back over 20 years to bathroom design and renovation across Ireland. Smaller Irish bathrooms often have one free corner and little room elsewhere, which is why we stock quadrant enclosures alongside matching quadrant shower trays. You can also compare other layouts in our full shower enclosures range.

Choosing a Quadrant Shower Enclosure

Quadrant enclosures vary mainly in how the door opens and how much frame surrounds the glass. Think about the space in front of your shower and the style of the room before choosing.

Sliding Quadrant Doors

Sliding doors run on top and bottom tracks and never open into the room, which makes them the usual choice for compact bathrooms. Designs such as the Image i4 Quadrant, Merlyn 6 Series Sleek Quadrant and our own Oslo Quadrant use double sliding doors for a wide, easy entry.

Hinged Quadrant Doors

A hinged quadrant door swings open for a more generous entry where there is space in front of the shower. The Image i9 Hinged Quadrant Single Shower Door is one example. The door type is shown on each product page.

Framed and Frameless Enclosures

Framed enclosures hold the curved glass in an outer metal profile, giving solid support and good water sealing. Frameless enclosures use minimal tracking for a more open look that helps the bathroom feel larger. For a heritage look, the Burlington Classique quadrant brings a traditional framed style to a corner shower.

Need More Room? Consider an Offset Quadrant

If one wall is longer than the other, an offset quadrant shower enclosure keeps the same curved front but gives you a larger showering area. These are available in left- or right-handed versions to suit your layout.

Glass, Hardware and Finishes

Glass thickness varies by range, from 6mm on designs such as the Crosswater Clear 6 and Image i4 up to 10mm on the Crosswater Optix 10. Thicker glass feels more solid and is common on frameless enclosures.

Curved glass has a lot of surface to wipe down, so an easy-clean coating is a worthwhile feature in a hard water area. Some sliding enclosures, such as the Image i4 with its quick-release iRollers, let you lift the doors away from the track to clean underneath. Frames and handles come in chrome, matt black and brushed brass, depending on the range, and can be matched to your shower valve.

Measuring and Installation

The curve of your enclosure must match the radius of your quadrant shower tray. Many quadrants use a 550mm radius, the Image i4 among them, but this varies between ranges and sizes. Check the radius on both product pages before ordering, or order the tray and enclosure from the same range. Always measure your finished, tiled walls rather than bare plaster.

Older Irish homes rarely have perfectly straight walls. The wall profiles on our enclosures include adjustment, so your installer can compensate for walls that are slightly out of plumb and keep the curved doors running and sealing properly.

FAQs about Quadrant Shower Enclosures

Do I need a specific shower tray for a quadrant enclosure?

Yes. You need a quadrant tray with the same size and curve radius as the enclosure. Radius varies between ranges, so check it on both product pages. Buying the tray and enclosure together from the same range is the simplest way to get a match, and our team can confirm compatibility if you're unsure.

What size quadrant shower enclosure do I need?

Quadrants are sized by the length of each straight side, so measure along both walls from the corner once they are tiled. Compare those figures with the sizes and adjustment ranges on the product page, and choose a tray of the same size.

Are sliding quadrant doors easy to keep clean?

Yes. Enclosures with quick-release bottom rollers let you lift the doors away from the track, giving direct access to clean the runners and seals.

Do you deliver shower enclosures across Ireland?

Yes, we deliver nationwide. Curved glass is packed securely for transit, and ordering the matching tray at the same time saves sourcing it separately.
